    THE DALLES GETS IT
Saving of Thirty-Six Hundred Dol
lar to Music Loving Families
of This City.
Two Carloads of Fine Piano and Or
gan to Be Sold in The Dalles Tbis
Weelc from the Factory Direct.
lam pleased to announce to the citizens
of The Dalles and surrounding country
that two carloads or elegant Kimball
pianos and organs will he sold here this
'Week. .. ''.
To persons who have been wanting a
strictly first class instrument and have
not been willing, or lelt able, to pay the
prices asked by small dealers and agents,
I have a statement of extraordinary in
terest to make. Tomorrow morning at
the old Chronicle building, opposite
French & Co's bank, an opportunity will
be afforded you such as you have never
seen and will likely never see again in
The Dalles, to get a piano at auch'a low
price and on such easy terms.
How is this? you ask.
Let me tell you.
- We . are shipping two carloads of
pianos and organs to this city, as many
instruments as any music house would
sell in one year in the usual way. The
rent of a good store, water, light, heat,
incidental expenses and the salary of a
competent salesman, and the business
can not be run for less than $300 per
month.
At the end of the year it would have
cost $3600 to sell these instruments.
Now notice: We ship them here di
rect from our factory in full carload lots
at about half the usual freight. We de
duct that $3600 from the net cash price
of these instruments, and give it to you
to come and get them quick," stop ex
penses and let us (to. We will be just as
well off as if we stayed here one year
and sold them for $3600 more, and will
nave all that trainable time. Yon will
be $3600 better off, for yon wilFgain that
amount in cash. It is a straight pro
position and any business man can see
the point. It can be done in no other
way. The dealer who sells only two or
three pianos a month mast put that
$300 on his prices. This magnificent
stock Of new pianos and organs is from
the great factories of which W. W. Kim
ball Co., of Chicago, which factories

floor space of over 11 acres, and have
capacity of 30 pianos and 69 organs per
day. This stock is incomparably the
finest, most elegant and beautiful that
ever came to this city, and offers an op
portunity of a fine selection at your very
door.
The Kimball piano has a world-wide
reputation. It is used and indorsed .by
-such musicians of national and interna
tional reputation as Adeline Patti, Lil
lian Nordica, Minnie Hauk, Sig. Arditi,
Julius Farotti and many others too
.numerous to mention, also by all the
orchestral leaders, viz.. Gilmor. Rnnni.
. Ausciieweyn, nerom ana juiesegang.

-At the World's Fair the Kimball piano
and organ took every thing in the way of
liigh honors and diplomas that' was
worth having, as the official records of
awards show. ' ,
The guarantee of the Kimball Co
which represents millions, and whose
capital is only exceeded by a few of the
largest banks in the United States, goes
with Avprv inat.riimAnt cnlrl an A la aa
good as a government bond. The banks
of the country are our references.
j. nig Btupment comprises a great va
riety of styles, sizes and prices of pianos
in Mahogany, oak, walnut and rosewood
cases, with nandsomely engraved . pan-
nels and carved tusses. " Organs in
satin walnut, oak and black walnut cases
with. French plate mirrors, double oc
tave couplers, fortes and knee swells, all
have two or more full sets of reeds.'
If the people of The Dalles could real
ize what phenomenal bargains they are
offered they would be in line at 9 o'clock
tomorrow morning, at the old Chronicle
building, to get one of these elegent in
struments. Out of 4.000 people in this beautiful
city, I ehould have, at least 100 custo
mers for these two carloads of instru
ments. Come promptly for they will go
quickly at the prices and lerme I .ana
ottering, i can't stay long to sen i
struments at these prices and on tneae
terms old pianos and organs will be ac
cepted at their market value in part
payment for new pianos.-
I also desire to say a word to the
music profession.
While it is customery with some re
tail dealers to pay commissions to
teachers and musicians to recommend
this or that piano to their pupils or
friends, I regret to say that on these
. pianos and organB, retailed at manufact
urers wholesale prices with cost of laying
them down here added, it is absolutely
impossible to pay commissions to any
one. -.. . : ", ' ;
In conclusion, I will say again, if yon
want an instrument and expect to get
one of this shipment, come to the old
Chronicle building, opposite French &
Co's bank and ' get your choice. Store
open every night during this sale till 9
o'clock. ' it. V. Moore.
