Editor Cheonicle: Iq the' grand
lodge after the election of officers, var
ious questions of interest to the mem
bers of the order were brought up and
deciiou given on knotty points in con

installation of officers at the evening
session the lodge in a -body visited the
much time in admiring the beautiful
cam pus and college structures.
At 8 p. m. the lodjje "opened in the
rgrand lodge degree and went into the
subordinate degree, so that membeis of
that degree .could enjoy the evening
session. - During the exercises the fol
lowing officers were installed : . -

Each officer made a short speech to
the .lode and thanked them for the
honor bestowed. ; Under the good of the
or.ler a short and pleasing program was
listened to by the members.
And now cornea the most interesting
bit of news for the Good Templars and
cMzens ot me lialles. ine grand lodge
vas invited to hold its next annual con
vention in The Dalles and the invitation
was accepted, bo brothers and sisters in
the temperance cause, we must bear in
mind that our honoris at stake and we
armnt give them a glorious welcome.
One lady delegate rode more than sixty
five miles on a buckboard over terrible
road a to make connections with the train
4or forest throve. The beautiful sun
shine and cool breezes, during our stay
ir Pwmnri trt ltidiciLtA that nntnrn
-vied with the kind people of Forest
Grove to make us happy. We had
very pleasant visit with our friend Win.
Curtis, whoie a student at Pacific TJui
vereity. He may be expected home in
about two weeks. .
Yestt-rday was the last day of the
grand lodge, and when the regular busi
oess was completed, the time was spent
in an experience meeting. . Each mem
ior the good of the order and many in
"teresting and helpful thoughts were ad
-vaneed. The meeting became truly i
love feast. The only contention during
ithe session was that each person de
clared that they received the best hos
pitality. But to tell the troth Forest
Grove's hospitality was the talk of all
the delegates and we were all royally
treated. Many pleasant memories will
-.centre around our visit to Forest Grove,
We hope that all may go back to their
'homes with more enthusiasm and love
. for our order and its great work, with
i-more love for one another and a greater
-de-ire to do all we can for the cause of
temperance. Sobibblbb,
