Improving- Their Opportunity to Laarn
' About trie Nicaragua- Canal.
Managua, Nicaragua May 1, via Gal
veston. (Special Nicaragua dispatch,
copyrighted by Associated Press.) Offi
cers belonging to the British fleet were
ashore yesterday at San Juan del Sur, a
small port near which the Pacific en
trance to the Nicaragua canal is to be
built. It was noticed they were mat
ing measurements and topographical
sketches of the land, and they also were
apparently making observations along
the route to be followed by the canal
from the Pacific to Lake Nicaragua
Officers made sketches and took notes
about Brito, and although ordered to de
sist by the Nicaragua governor there,
they continued their work and refused
to return on board their ships.

Read the following opinion of one of the most prominent Amer
ican dealers who has sold hundreds of these wheels :
Richmond, Va., Oct 2, 1894.
Indiana Bicycle Co., Indianapolis, Ind.:
Gentlemen The Waverley Hcorchr and Be'le came to hand
yesterday. - We are afraid you have sent ni the high-priced wheel
by mistake. You can't mean to tell us that this wheel retails for
85? . We must say that it In, without eio ption, the prettiest wheel
we have ever sen, and, moreover, we have faith in it, although it
weighs only 22 lbs., for of all Waverleys we have sold this year and
last fand you know that is 'a right good numberl, we have never
had a single frame nor fork broken, either from accident or defect,
and that is more than we can say of any other wheel, however
high grade, so exiled, that we sell. We congratulate ourselves
every day that we are the Waverley agents.
Yours truly. Walter C. Mbcb Co.
