San Francisco, April 4. The United States steamship Patterson is now being fitted out here for a trip to Alaska with a partv of surveyors, who will work on the boundary lines during the eummer. The harbors about Sitka will also be sounded, and a map made of their findings. The party will be engaged up north for three years. A big supply of coal will be taken on Puget sound, and a steam launch will be towed along in order to work in ' shallow inlets successfully. The eur veying will be done in Portland inlet. 'This is where the boundary line begins, and much 'dispute bas arisen of late over - .this point between the United States and British America. Both countries' limits seem to overlap each other, and it will be the duty of Captain Morse to solve this problem for the government. A severe rheumatic pain in the left shoulder had troubled Mr. J.
