It has been eome time since I have
seen anything in your paper from this
part of the country, so will drop you a
few lines.
We have been having some winter
weather the last few days. Two inches
of snow fell last Friday afternoon. The
weather has been fair since; but the
roads are in bad condition for hauling.
Mr. A. Houghton of this place, for
merly of Dakota, started to Grants, this
morning to meet his wife. Mr. Hough
ton has located near the Kent office.
We are glad to welcome them to our
midst.
Mrs. O. C. Hogue and Mrs. A. C. Ben
nett have gone to Portland on a pleas
ure trip this week.
Perry Comstock has gone to Wasco to
take in the big musical and visit rela
tives near that place.
M. H. Bennett made a. business trip
to Antelope Monday.
Miss Annie Parks of California is
stoping with her sister, Mrs. Shadewitz,
this winter.
Mr. J. K. Craig has engaged quite ex
tensively in the hou business. J. K. is
quite an enterprising gentleman, and we
wish him success in his new undertak
ing. Times are so dull that news are scarce,
so will close. Reporter No. 1.

Portland this morning, remaining bu

Miss Kate Maguire returned to Port
land today, after a few weeks' visit with
Miss Elsie Ball.
Miss Grace Graham came up from
Hood River yesterday to attend the
teachers' institute.
Specimen Cases.
: S. H. Clifford, New Cassel, Wis., was
troubled with neuralgia and rheumatism,
his stomach waa disordered, his ' liver
was affected to an alarming degree, ap
petite fell away, and he waa terribly re
duced in flesh and strength. Three bot
tles of Electric Bitters cured him.
Edward Shepherd, Harrisburg, 111.,
had a running sore "on his leg of eight
years' standing. Used three bottles of
