Teachers' Institute.
The institute met in the Court street
schoolhouse at 9:30 this morning, and
was opened by some spirited singing,
led by Prof. Stratton, Miss Irene Calli
son being at the organ. The enrollment
of teachers showed a large attendance,
The woful condition of roads leading to
town from the southern part of the
county prevented several teachers from
being present.
The program as printed was fully car
ried out. The papers read by the teach
ers were of a very high order, showing
much careful thought in their prepara
tion. President Chapman, of the State
University, fame in soon after the open
ing exercises, and by his ready criti
ci&ms contributed no little to the inter
est. Mr. Williams, agent for Maynard
& Merrill, was present during the morn
ing session, and gave a very instructive
account of his experience in managing
bad boys.
J. M. Carroll is secretary and Miss
Irene Callison holds the undesirable
position of critic.
President Chapman will lecture to
night in the opera house on "The Col
lege and the World."
.. The attendance of citizens is encour
agingly large. The roll-call showed the

Specimen Cases.
S. H. Clifford, New Cassel, Wis., was
troubled with neuralgia and rheumatism,
his stomach was disordered, his liver
was affected to an alarming degree, ap
petite fell away, and he was terribly re
duced in flesh and strength. Three bot

Edward Shepherd, Harrisburg, 111.,
had a running sore on bis leg of eight
years' standing. Used three bottles of
