SEVEN COREAN WONDERS.
"rvi'ln Wlilrlt l'li'l " L'imil(uou Kcilo
In .iitliiilt).
A Chinese; paper describes the seven
wonders which Corea, like oilier Ori
ental eountries. possesses, and which
phiyed a conspicuous role in antiquity.
The I'oreau "wonders" consist, lirst, of
ji hot mineral spring near Kin Shantao,
which is capahle of curing sickness
and disease of all sorts. The second
wonder is the two wells, one at each
end of the peninsula, which have the
peculiar characteristic that when one is
full the other is empty. The water of
the one is intensely hitter, that of the
other has a pleasant and sweet taste.
The third wonder is a cold cave from
which there issues constantly an ice
cold wind, with such force that a
sitronp man is not able to stand up
against it. A pine forest which can
not be eradicated constitutes the fourth
wonder. No matter what injury may
be done to the roots the young trees
spring up again like the phenix from
ii ashes.
The most remarkable, however, is
the fifth wonder the famous hovering
Htone which stands, or rather appears
to ntaud, in front of a palace erected
i its honor. This is a massive rect
angular block, free on all sides. Two
men .standing, one on each end, can
draw a card underneath the stone,
from side to side, without encounter
ing any obstacle. The sixth wonder is
.&shot stone which has been lying from
Simc immemorial on the summit of a
hill and evolvi ng a glowing heat. The
Jieventh C'orcan wonder is a sweating
Buddha. This is guarded in a great
temple, in whose court for thirty yards
on all aides not a single blade of grass
grows. No tree, no tlov.er will nour
ish on the sacred spot, and even wihl
creatures are careful not to profane it.
'Perhaps Koine of our readers would
like to know in what respect Chamber
lain's Cough Remedy in better than any
other. We will tell you. xWhen thii
remetlo Ikih been taken as noon as a cold
haH been contracted, and before it has
become nettled in the systom, it will
counteract the etl'ect of the cold and
greatly lessen its severity, and it's the
only remedy that will do this. It acts
;in perfect harmony with nature and
aids nature in relieving the lunge, opun
ing tin; secretions, liquifying the mu
cous and causing its expulsion from the
.air cells of the lungs, and restoring the
system to a strong and healthy condi
tion. No other remedy in the market
popaeM'S thee remarkable properties.
No other will cure a cold so quickly.
