In one of their villapes. that of a
chief named Maneura. Mr. Selous

night, from which he barely escaped
with his life. Twelve of his men were
killed and five wounded. He himself
fted into the lone crass, and the record
of his suffering's f ir the next fourteen
cars in endeavoring: to reach his
wagons was of a thrilling: description.
The climate he said was very suitable
for Europeans, and of the future pros
pects of this, the most recent of British
jossessions. he spoke in the most hope
ful strain.
Its mineral and agricultural resources
are reported to be abundant, and
await development.
