India' Mints Close.
London, June 26. Telegrams from
Calcutta 6ay the Indian government has
stopped the coinage of silver for private
account at the mints.
In the house of lords Earl Kimberly,
secretary of state for India, stated the
Indian council had passed an act for the
immediate closing of Indian mints to
the free coinage of silver. He further
said it was intended to introduce a gold
