London ua at Center.
' The' city of London is put down by
geographers as the center of the landed
hemisphere, tn other words, a radiua
of about 6,000 miles on the curved sur
face of the earth, with London as a cen
ter, would describe a circumference in
ielosing more land than any 6,000 mile
circle that could be drawn from' any
other city in the world. Exchange.
' The strongest recommendation that
any article can have is the endorsement
of the mothers of the town. ' When the
mothers recommend it you may know
that that article has more than ordinary
merit. Here is. what the Centerville,
South Dakota, Citizen says editorially
of an article sold in their town : , "From
personal experience we can say that
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy has
broken up bad colds for our children.
"We are acquainted with many mothers
in Centerville who would not be without
it in the house for a good many times its
cost, and are recommending it every
day." 50 cent bottles for sale by Blake
.ley & Houghton, druggists.
American paper is fast supplanting
that of English make in Australia, ow
ing to its superior quality and cheapness.
One TniH in New York state has perma
nent orders from that country to supply
6,000 tons annually.
' Three days is a very short time in
which to cure a bad case of rheumatism ;
but it can be done, if the proper treat
ment is adopted, as will be seen by the
following from James Lambert, of New
Brunswick, Ills. : "I was badly afflicted
with rheumatism in the hips and legs,
when I bought a bottle of Chamberlain's
Pain Balm. It cured me in three days.
I am all right today ; and would insist
on every one who is afflicted with that
terrible disease to use Chamberlain's
Pain Balm and get well at once." 50
cent bottles for sale by Blakeley &
Houghton, druggists.
! And Still We Have Dyspepsia.
Scientists assure us that upward of
6,000,000 minute glands are constantly
at work in our stomachs secreting gas
tric juice. New York Journal.
Joseph V. Dory, of Warsaw, 111., was
troubled with rheumatism and tried a
number of different remedies, but says
none of them seemed to do him any
good ; but finally he got hold of - one
. that speedily cured him. He was much
pleased with it, and ielt sure that others
similarly afflicted would like to know
what the remedy was that cured him.
He states for the benefit of the public
that it is called.. Chamberlain's Pain
Balm. . For sale by Blakeley & Hough

Mr. Samuel Plimsoll still keeps to his J
nouse in irarjr. lane, ana is rar rrom well,
but he has sufficiently recovered himself
to be able to write a letter claiming one
result or rather the want of result of
the recent storm to legislation. Has
there ever been remembered, he asks, a
gale of equal suddenness, violence and
duration which was not the cause of
very, very much greater loss of life than
that recorded of the gale which has re
cently passed away?
A year and eight months ago, when he
was fervently urging the government to
assist in passing the load line bill, it was
shown that the deplorable loss of life at
Bea from overloading was entirely pre
ventable, and that the passing of the
bill would immediately check it, while,
when the act was steadily and uniformly
administered, this head of loss would
disappear. He points triumphantly to
the recent gale for confirmation. Liver

Banish the Collar Stttd.
When a man has so far gone to the
bad with a stiff neck that he cant look
at a pretty girl across the street, and
when it grows worse and worse, until
he has to hang his head out of the side
of his bed when he sleeps ask him if he
wears a collar button, and if he does
advise him to discard it. A man in our
town has discovered that the collar stud
digging into the back of the neck
paralyzes his brain forces and makes his
head refuse to turn. Sew a plain pearl
button on the back of your shirt, and be
happy. - '
" At any rate there's no torture under a
coat collar that is harder to bear than
the collar button under a winter over
coat's 'extra weight digging into the
very zenith and funnybone of your
spinal column. Physicians say it is a
but cure of the grip to discard the col
lar stud and sew on a button. Lewis
ton Journal. '.

Dr. King's New Discovery for consump

after an attack of "la grippe," when
various other remedies and. several phy
