The Qmcfceat W ay to Care m Cold.
Do vou. wish to know the quickest way
to care a cold? We will tell you. To
cure a cold quickly, it must be treated
before the cold lias become settled in the
feystetn. The first symptoms of a cold
is a dry, loud cough and sneezing. The
rough is soon followed by watery ex
pectoration and the sneezing by a pro
ise watery discharge from the nose. In
severe cases there is a thin white coatinir
on the tongue. What to do? It is only
necessary to take Chamberlain's Cough
lieruedv in double does every hour.
That will greatly lessen the severity of
the cold aud in many cases will eflectu
,ally counteract it, and cnre what would
have been a severe cold within one or
-two davs time. Try it and be conviuced

From the Daily Reveille, Whatcom, Waxli.
-T. C. Burnett, the democratic candi
date for sheriff, was taken violently ill
at ClearbroOk. He had all the symp
toms of Asiatic cholera, and for an hour
or two it wan reared he would die. They
finally gave hiiu a dose of Chamberlain's
Colic. Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy,
which revived him until a physician ar
rived." That is ",' precisely - what "the
manufacturers of that medicine recom

. B Stayed Hypnotised.
That hypnotism is a dangerous sci
ence, even in skilled hands, was . once
more .demonstrated at Le Bourget, near
Paris. A professor of legerdemain, who
was giving an entertainment in a . cafe,
and enjoyed some considerable reputa
tion as a hypnotist, proposed concluding
the evening's amusement by an exhibi
tion of his skill. A young man named
Raylant volunteered to act as the sub
ject, and after Home difficulty was ren
dered completely unconscious. The pro
fessor then performed the usual tricks
with him, but when it tame to awaken
ing found, to his astonishment, that it
was quite impossible to effect it.
Raylant was, sent home and medical
help was summoned, but the doctor
could only recall him to. oonciouaneas for
a few seconds, after" which the young
man relapsed into an agitated sleep,, in
terrupted at intervals by violent nerv
ous crises. Dp to to-day Raylant has
only had a few waiting moments, during
which he complains of excessive weak
ness and pains in the head. An inquiry
has been opened by the police authori
ties. Paris Cor. London Telegraph. '
