The Qarekeat Way to Cure a Cold.
Do you wish to know the quickest way
to care a cold? We will tell you. To
eure a cold quickly, it must be treated
before the cold ha's become settled in the
aystein. The first symptoms of a cold
ia a dry, loud cough and sneezing. The
cough "is soon followed by watery ex
pectoration and the sneezing by a pro
fuse watery discharge from the nose. In
severe cased there is a thin white coating
n the tongue. What to do? It is only
ecessary to take Chamberlain's Cough
Remedv in double does every hour.
That will greatly lessen the severity of
the cold and in many cases will effectu
ally counteract it, and cure what would
have been a severe cold within one or
two days tiuie. Try it and be convinced

T. C. Burnett, the democratic candi

or two it wan feared he would die. They
finally gave him a dose of Chamberlain's
Colic. Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy,
which revived him until a physician ar
rived." That is precisely what the
manufacturers of that medicine recom
mend for cholera. Send for a physician
but give their medicine until t he physi

preparation will be in yreat demand be-

That hypnotism is a dangerous set-
ace, even In skilled bands, warn onoe
more demonstrated at Le Bocrget, near
Paris. A professor of legerdemain, who
was giving an entertainment in a cafe,
and enjoyed some considerable reputa
tion as a hypnotist, proposed concluding
the evenings amusement by an exhibi
tion of his skill. A young man named
Baylant volunteered to set as tbe sub
ject, and after some difficulty was ren
dered completely nnoouscioas. The pro
fessor then performed the usual tricks
with him, bnt when it came to awaken
ing found, to his astonishment, that it
was quite impossible toeffect it. -
Baylant was sent home and medical
thelp was summoned, but the doctor
could only recall him to concaousness for
a few seconds, after which the young
man relapsed into an agitated sleep, in
terrupted at interyals by violent nerv
ous crises. Dp to to-day Baylant has
only had a few waking moments, daring
which he oom-Dlains of excessive wealr-
,' ness and pains in the head. An inquiry
: has been opened by the police authori
ties. Pans Cor. London Telegraph.
Women. Louebooiia.
It is noticeable that at tbe luncheon
rooms of the several woman's ex
changes, as well as at several of tbe res
taurants in the Rboppring districts, broken
orders are possible. This is especially
true of the menus of tbe exchanges,
which are managed by women solely
for women. ' It is a concession to an ac
cepted fact that women ordering and
eating alone greatly dislike to pay for a
mouthful more than can be 'consumed
One croquette, a half serving of salad,
chocolate without bread these are some
of tbe ways a woman adjusts her bill to
her aprHtite. New York Times,
