Tbe Quickest Way to Care a Cold.
Do you wish to know the quickest way
to cure a cold? We will tell you. To
care a cold quickly, it iiiust be treated
before the cold has become settled in tbe
ystem. The first symptoms of a cold
is a dry, loud cough and sneezing. The
cough is soon followed by watery ex
pectoration and the sneezing by a pro
fuse watery discharge from the nose. In
severe cases there is a thin white coating
on the tongue. What to do? It is only
necessary to take Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy in double does every hour.
That will greatly lessen the severity of
the cold and in many cases will effectu
ally counteract it, and cure what would
have been a severe cold within one or
two davs time. Try it and be convinced

American Cholera.
From the Daily Rsvkiixs, Whatcom, Wash.
"T. C. Burnett, the democratic candi
date for sheriff, was taken violently ill
at Clearbrook. He had all the symp
toms of Asiatic cholera, and for an hour
or two it was feared he would die. They
ainally gave him a dose of Chamberlain's
Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy,
whicir revived him until a physician ar
rived." That ia precisely what the
manufacturers of that medicine recom
mend for cholera. Send for a physician
but give their medicine until the physi--ian
arrives. If cholera become preval
ent in this country next summer this
preparation will be in great demand be
. ottuse it can always be depended upon.

JUDGE NELSON'S
DECISION.
Speaking of patent medicines, the
Judge says : "I wish to deal fairly and
honorably with all, and when I 6nd an
article that will do what it is recom
mended to do, I am not ashamed to say
so. I am acquainted with Dr. Vander
pool (having been treated by him for
cancer), and have used his blood medi
cine, known as the S. B. Headache and
Liver Cure, and while I am 75 years old,
and . have used many pills and other
remedies for the blood, liver' and kid
neys, I must say that for a kidney tonic
in Bright disease, and ad an alterative
for the blood, or to correct the action of
the stomach and bowels. -it ia a very su
perior remedy, and beats anything I

Nantiooke, Pa., a mining town of 11,000
inhabitants. Two-thirds of the popula
tion are foreigners, mostly Hone, Poles
and Italians. Three months ago the
ree mail delivery system was inaugu
rated in the-town. It has proven a fail
ure. A great deal of foreign mail mat
ter is received at the poetof&oe daily, but
no streets or numbers are .given. The
letter carriers simply take a bag of mail
and march through the town blowing a
whistle.
The people turn out and the carrier
allows them to examine the letters. In
this way he delivers to owners. The
people are honest -enough, and will not
take a letter that .does not belong to
them. The poetoffioe authorities at Wash
ington, however, do not like the mode
of delivery, and it is likely that the free
delivery system will be discontinued. :
