The Quickest W ay to Care a Cold.
Do you wish to know the quickest way
to cure a cold? We will tell you. To
cure a cold quickly, it must be treated
before the cold has become settled in the
system. The first symptoms of a cold
is a dry, loud cough and sneezing. The
cough is soon followed by watery ex
' pectoration and the sneezing by a pro
fuse watery discharge from the nose. In
severe cases there is a thin white coating
on the tongue. - What to do? It is only
necessary to take Uhainberlain s uougn
Kemedv in double does everv hour.
That will greatly lessen the severity of
ttie cola and in many cases win enectu
ally counteract it, and cure what would
have been a severe cold within one or
two days time. Try it and be convinced

American Cholera.
From the Daily Reveille, Whatcom, Wash.
- "T. C. Burnett, the democratic candi
date for sheriff, was taken violently ill
at Clearbrook. He had all the symp
toms" of Asiatic cholera, and for an hour
or two it was feared he would die. They
finally gave him a dose of Chamberlain's
Colic. Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy,
which revived him until a physician ar
rived." That is precisely what the
manufacturers of that medicine recom
mend for cholera. Send for a physician
but give their medicine until the physi
cian arrives. If cholera become preval
ent in this country next summer this
preparation will be in great demand be
cause it can always be depended upon.

JUDGE NELSON'S
DECISION.
Speaking of patent medicines, the
Judge says: "I wish to deal fairly and
honorably with all, and when I find an
article that will do what it is recom
mended to do, I am not ashamed to say
so. I am acquainted with Dr. Vander
pool (having been treated by him for
cancer), and have used his blood medi
cine, known a the S. B. Headache and
Liver Cure, and while I am 75 years old,
and have used many pills and other
remedies for the ' blood, liver and kid
neys, I must say that for a kidney tonic
in Brights disease, and as an alterative
for the blood, or to correct the action of
the stomach and bowels, it is a very su
perior remedy, and beats anything I
ever tried. J. B. Nelson,

The tongue of the hive bee is a most
elaborate structure, admirably fitted for i
helping to pump np nectar. The wax
producing organs of the bee are certain
glands on the underside of the abdomen,
which are surmounted by thin plates, on
which" the wax is deposited in flakes
like miniature fish scales. It is taken
from these plates by a pair of shears or
cutters, admirably adapted for the pur
pose and formed between two joints of
the hind legs. '
It is passed to the mouth, where it is
chewed and rendered plastic by the'
jaws. The hind -legs nave many beau
tiful structures and modifications fitted
for gathering pollen and cleansing the
bee, while on the front legs there is a
regular comb and brush. - admirably
adapted for cleaning the attenme or
feelers, which are very delicate and im
portant sense organs. Boston Tran

Too Late.
During my second year at the Jeffer
son Medical college, in Philadelphia. I
had for a classmate a regular lunkhead
One of the professors was in the habit of
taking the boys unawares and quizzing
them. He said to this chap one day
"How much is a dose of T" giving
the technical name of croton oil. "A
teaspoonful." was the reply.
The professor made no comment, and
the fellow soon realized . that he had
made a mistake. After a quarter of an
hour he said. ''Professor, 1 want to
change my answer to that question.'
"It's too late, Mr. ," responded tut?
professor, looking at his watch, "your
patient's been dead fourteen minutes.''
