Not the Crip.
. There is a family in this city which
lives in- constant awe of tlie grip, and
this fear is particularly centered on the
small boy of the house, albeit he is a ro
bust specimen, of his age. ;
The other day the small b&y sneezed.
This was enough to alarm the entire
household. He continued sneezing, and
his mother suggested sending' for; tho
doctor, as she was sure he was going to
be ill.
"Do yon feel sick?" she asked tenderly.
'Do yon think you are getting the grip?"
. "CJrip notliing!" ejaculated - the small
boy between paroxysmal sneezes. "1

An odd will was filed at the probate
office in Auburn on Tuesday. -It was
that of Elisjia Ball, of Minot, and was
dated in 1867, but the maker of the will
had outlived all the witnesses to it, and
it had to be proved from the handwriting
of the man who drew it. It was the first
case on record of the kind. Not a change
bad been made in the paper from the day
it was drawn. Kennebec .(Me.) Journal.
' Blooded Stallions Fight. '
Two blooded stallions got 'out of their
stable at Chillicothe recently and en
gaged in fierce contest. The brutes
fought np and down the public road for
nearly two miles, the battle continuing
with unabated fury until one was dead
and the other so seriously injured by
the steel clad hoofs of his antagonist that
he will probably have to be killed.
Philadelphia Ledger. c
Dimples.
The old idea of 40 yean ago was that facial
eruptions were da to a "blood humor," for
Which they gave potash. Thus all the old Sarsa
paxillas contain potash, a most objectionable and
drastic mineral, that instead of decreasing.
actually creates more eruptions. You have no
ticed this when taking other SarsaparUlas than
Joy's. It is however now known that the stom
ach, the blood erecting power, is the seat of all
vitiating or cleansing operations. A stomach
clogged, try Indigestion or constipation, vitiates
the blood, result pimples. A clean stomach and
healthful digestion purifies it and they disappear.
Thus Joy's Vegetable Sarsaparilla is compounded
after the modern idea to regulate tho bowels-and
stimulate the digestion. The effect is immediate
and most satisfactory.' A short testimonial to
contrast the action of the potash SarsaparUlas
and Joy's modern vegetable- preparation. Mrs.
C. D. Stuart, cf 400 Hayes St, S. F., writes: " I
have for years had indigestion, I tried a popular
Sarsaparilla but it actually caused more pimples
to break out on my face. Hearing that Joy's was
a later preparation and acted differently, I tried
it and the pimples Immediately disappeared."
