Keso for 269 Everett street, and has declared its intention to consider no new application for sny license for this piece for a period of six months. Keso was "too busy" to ap pear before the council at the time set for his hearing. Members of the council indicated that hereafter they "will put the six months' ban on places where licensee are revoked that have been a source of constant trouble to the police department. . ; . KL Wolverton Jntara, Kajino an K. Takira, Japanese sailors, who pleaded guilty to smuggling five Japanese aliens into the United States. Kajlno, leader, was fined $500 and sent, to McNeils island for two years en the smuggling charge and fined $250 and sent to McNeils island for 13 months on a second charge of helping to con ceal the men In a' north end hotel. Ta kira was fined J2S0 and sentenced, to IS months at McNeils island on the smuggling charge. The" third member of the gang, , Yoshitsuga Nimura, has pleaded not guilty and will be tried January 22. Medford ; Says He Was Attacked " Medford, Dec. 22.-That a serious wound at , the Vxaaa of his neck was caused by a -shot fired at him by an un identified person is the statement of Pete Sopoff, 35. a Russian, svhd says friends named Havinof f and Pete Mar goff live at- Second - and- Morrison streets, Portland. Sopoff . was found wounded near the east end of Jack son -bridge, here Wednesday. . In" addition to the wound Sopoff s scalp is cut in three-places, evidently by the butt of a German pistol which he asserts he wrenched from his as sailant. The pistol was found near where Sopoff was lying. -One shell had been fired. The bullet has not been lo cated, though: X-ray , pictures were taken. v Sopoff had bought a draft for $800 shortly before he was attacked and had considerable money on him. He had also purchased food and was on his way to the "Jungles" across the bridge. Only the food was missing.
