READT I3T- THREE WEEKS
Installation v of the.- new wireless
. equipment at the North Head, Wash ,
?, government station, will be completed
in time to have the plant in operation
. ,by the end of two or three weeks, ac-
cording to George Wilson, naval radio

who was in the city Thursday. ..
With the new equipment, which in
cludes a loop aerial. It is hoped, to
better serve the Columbia river and
' Willamette rivers, where vessels have
: often been unable to communicate
f with North Head, presumably on ac

" there. Such circumstances, as devel
oped In connection with the sinking of
"the dredge Portland, when the steamer
'Santa Clara sent out the message for
help, from within the eity limits, which
was not heard at North Head, are not
expected to occur again with the in
stallation of the loop aerial.
