HEAVY; TRAFFIC IN PROSPECT FOR LINE TO BRAZIL v Prospects for heavy traffic in kaa enrer and freight on th Pacific Ar-irentine-Braiil line's new service -with 502 type vessels, to be inaugurated "In January are unusually promising;, ac cording to Charles Brown, traffic man seer of Swayns Hojrt, who Is in Portland today conferrals; with O. B. Theirinsr of A. M. Gillespie, Ine local representatives of Swayne Hoyt. Brown i making; final arrant ement relatvie to tho nsw service out of Portland, which begnis January 28 with tho sailing of - tho President Hayes. - Brown points out that the service between-the east coast' of South Amreica is tho only entirely new felld to be opened vp by the ship ping board, ; as pa line served these ports before tho board assigned four freight carriers, to the run two years ago. and appointed Swayne A . Hoyt as managing agents. TVith the assignment fo three passenger-freight vessels early next year, both passenger service and refrigera tion service by a direct route will be available-for htn first time. In these two particular lines Brown expects the allocation -of the 602 type of ves sels wlZl be justified by the additional, traffic created. '""' Brown spoke Monday noon at the members' forum at the Chamber of Commerce.
