Unlimited posaibllitie far, develop

for - great development.' v
"Snippers are awakening to the pos

declared, "and steamships are dally
carrying1 more and more of the freight
formerly handled by the railroad.
The trouble in the present tntercoastal
situation is lack of cooperation among
carriers, and not to too many".
Wood admitted generally that . the
Pacific coast is considered as a future
field for operation of Barber vessels.
Definite information regarding- the
Introduction of Barber service steam

stood that the survey which he is now
making- has this in view.
' Wood visited various terminals and

Mrs, Niohols to
Be Taken Back
By Her Husband
Ellensburg, "VVaeh,, Dec 9. "I cer
tainly will take Mabel back and give
her another chance," Ike A. Nichols,
Northern Pacific brakeman, declared
here today on his return from Kla
math Falls, where Ins wife is held for
the shooting December 2 of Robert
Greer, also of Ellensburg, in a lonely
mountain cabin e0 milea south of
Bend. Nichols is convinced that even
if his wife did riot leave EUeneburg
with Greer of her own free will, and
she avers she did not, she was forced
to remain with him when she was des
perate in her desire to communicate
with her husband la lleasbura.
Mrs. Nichols was threatened with
instant death if she communicated
with home or got farther- away than
20 feet from Greer, she declared to her
husband. He even forced her to ac
company him on his deliverie of
whiekey, which she says Greer manu
factured on a large scale In the cabin.
Mrs. Nichols asserted that she
was made to leave with Greer against
her will is borne out by the fact that
note found in the kitchen stove of
the Nichols home here after she dis
appeared read: "I am going not be
cause I want tobut at the point of a
gun."
