Gompers. The meeting unanimously
agreed with him.

parties, most of them members of this

in furtherance of 'progressive policies.

United States constitution abolishing
tne electoral college and earlier meet
ings of the newly elected congress.

fort to put down the rebellion of the
civilian population against the Turk
ish Nationalist regime. Three hundred
person were killed and wounded dur
ing a battle which followed a demon
stration in favor of, the return of the
Greeks to this city, which; was all but
destroyed several months i ago - at' the
time of the Turkish occupation.
.The leaders of the revolt allege that
the expulsion of the - Greeks from
Smyrna had killed the social? and eco
