.The excursion has been planned un
der the direction of the trade and com
merce department of the . Chamber of
Commerce, which had to delay several
previous attempts to take a group of
business men from this city into the
neighboring state during the past year.
Advice "has 'been , received by the
chamber that ' special programs have
been prepared at all of the cities to
be visited a nd luncheon? are awaiting
the visitors at several of the, communi

The-excursion special is being, run
under a committee of which Paul e

De Rock's "air hose and life line. " He
noticed his peril instantly,' and through
his private telephone inside his suit
called to the men abve to pull up all
the slack m his line to help him out.

With a crowbar De Rock managed
by well aimed blows -toknock the door
off its hinges, and free his Mnes. Knock
ing down the door was slow work, as
the water lessened his power.
De Rock's position was a perilous
one before the door closed, as he had
crawled around underneath the tilted
dredge In order to get into the rooms.
He " was trying to locate the bodies of
the two missing men.
For the past wee- pe Rock has been
wading around In the Jnnd and ooze at
the bottom of the river to jjet cables
under "the dredge. Although he must
do all bis work by hand, De;Roek has
succeeded kin. getting , 19 large - cables
under the vessel. -The 'remainder of
the SO cables, considered by engineers
as necessary te raise- the. dredge, will
be put under by steam "engines, now
that 10 cables have been put under by
which the others can be pulled through.
