' Export baying of wheat has been resumed at Portland but thus far nothing but parcel lots have been confirmed, although reports indicate two cargoes of wheat recently sold in this territory. . Somewhat healthier appearance was gener ally indicated by the domestic wheat trade for the day. There continue more or less dis position on the part of British interests to talk of weak'- tss.de but the fact remains that Europe is agaia a general buyer ot wheat in this country. Liverpool option opened higher but closed with a loss, vbile opening prices at Buenos Aires reflected weakness and decline. Chicago was active and higher at the opening. - Purchases of white club or western white are shown locally around $1.10 1.11 for tidewater track delivery, but as high as $1.12 has been reported paid during the last 24 hours. There continues a general lack of ac tivity in milling wheats, millers claiming that but little of this is offered. Patent flour prices continue' the subject of controversy. Old crop patent is scarce and firm at $7.20 per barrel, but new crop is be ing offered down to $6.75, although some claim tiey are getting $7.20 on their crop. ; Millstuffs are rather, scarce and firmly priced and feedstuffs in general are fium. Trend of the hay market is quiet, with alfalfa weaker at $18.00. Broomhall cabled : United Kingdom , Wheat situation seme what heavier and demand leaa active and buy ers apparently only interested in nearby posi tion. Fairly good quantities of Manitoba and winter offered for deferred shipment but, the nearby parcels are limited and are not being pressed for sale. Argentine Weather continues fine and fa vorable tfor the growing crop of wheat. For eign demand for wheat was slow. Corn market in United Kingdom remain steady to firm with offerings of American sorts limited and rather firmly held. Fair quantities of plate corn are now being put forward but holders are not anxious to accept concessions.
