Action Expected
On Application of
Wenatchee Eoad
Wenatchee, Wash.,- Sept. 30. Hopeii
was expressed today by H. EL Gilham,
financial agent of the Wenatchee
Southern railway company, that news
of the action of the interstate com
merce commission relative to the We
natchee Southern's aplication for a
certificate of necessity and convenience
for the proposed railroad wi II be fortlv
eomifig soon. Gilham said a communi
cation from the commission to the Wenatchee
Suthern attorneys had recent
ly been forwarded to him. in which as
surance was given that the oral argu
ment.before the commission stipulated
at the time of the hearing here- be
tween; the Wenatchee Southern people
and the Great Northern railway would
be set for as early a date as possible.
The Wenatchee Southern has filed its
abstract of testimony with the comrais
sion. It is believed the Great Northern
also has done so.
Confident that favorablef action will
be taken by the commission' on the We-;
natcheej Southern's application, officers"
of the company are making every ef
fort to prepare the Way for commence
ment of construction upon receipt of
Klamath Falls. Sept. . Riders
from all parts of the West ars ar
riving here daily for Klamath's county
fair and 'Southern Oregon rodeo, Oc
tober 4, 5 and 6, which promises to
be the most ambitious affair of Its
kind ever attempted in this part of
the state.
For the first time in its history,
Klamath county products will be
housed in especially constructed build
ings. The first unit of a grandstand
is being erected which will seat 1600
and bleachers will be provided for as
many more. A racetraek is being
constructed and wHl be ready on the
opening day.
The staging of the combined fair
and rodeo was made possible when
citizens raised more than $9000 for
purchase of a choice 40-acre tract on
the southern outskirts of the city.
COXTRACT SIGNED
Purchase of the tract for permanent
fair grdunds will be voted on at the
Novembier election. When It became
certain that a tract would be avail
able, the Bly Rodeo association en
tered into a five-year contract to
stage their show each year.
Not only is the Bly association noted
for its stock, hut 'Bly has produced
riders who have won fame in riding
contests in all parts of the West. And
the certainty that some of the best
horses in Oregon will be on hand has
drawn famed riders from Montana,
California. Nevada and elsewhere.

BIG CROWD EXPECTED
Thirty-two events will be staged
during the afternoons of the three
days. Everything from - bull-dogging
to bull riding, and from horse races
to flivver, raees will be seen. All
events will be under the supervision
of men who have had wide experience
in Wild West arenas. More than $3000
