DEFINITION OF VAGRANCY
An ordinance will be before the city
council Wednesday' for the change of
one; word, by which city officials ex
pect to be able te " secure convictions
in - the municipal court in certain
. classes of vagrancy cases which' here
tofore have been difficult.
The ordinance defining vagrancy at
present defines such a person as one
"who has no lawful means or support.
It ;is proposed to change the word
"sufDDort to that- of "occupation.''
This is especially designed, says City
Attorney. Grant, f orr the purpose of
securing conviction as vagrants of
men who habitually loiter about drink
ing, establishments and act as look
outs and runners.
