IN POISON CASE
Seattle, Aug. A. CU. P.) Prosecuting
Attorney Malcolm Douglas today vat
preparing to take action upon tha Ver
dict ot a coroner's jury, in which cen
sure for tne accidental poison Ins of
Rev. S. Cameron Morrison, rector of
the church of the Epiphany, Wednesday
night, was laid upon Dr. C P. Bryant,
M. P. DIx, druggist, ana tne flrng in
spector.
After Douglas had been given the
evidence in the case when the jury
had finished its deliberations last
night, he said. "Whether prosecution
win be started in the case depended
upon the classification of barium sul
phide under the drug law. and largely
upon the result of further investiga
tion.
"The law states that certain poisons
must be labelled and that all other poi
sons fatal to life in doses of CO grains
must be also labelled. We must de
termine the standing of barium sul
phide before proceeding."
The. Jury's report stated "that we.
tfce Jury, desire to censure the druggist
tM. P, Dlx) for selling this drug with
out inquiring as to Us use : to censure
the physician (Dr. C. P. Bryant) for
giving an oral instead of a written pre
scription in so dangerous a matter
and to censure the state drug inspector
for carelessness."
The Rev. Mr. Morrison took the bari-
om sulphide in mistake for barium sul-
. phate. which was to have been taken
as a preparation for an X-ray examina
tion. He died in the bathroom of his
home a few minutes after swallowing
the dose Wednesday evening.
