COTTON PRICES FLVCTCATE

New 'York. Msy 25. The uncertainty which

since the sdvsnce to above 20 cents for new crop

the South appeared to be more generally fsrerabje
and tha market lacked the stimulating influerwe
of the bulli&h private weather and crop advices
which have been so numerous of late i !
The official weather map made a fairly favor
able showing, however, and the trade is looking
forward to a probabililar of an important incrup

qrreetioas, or rather three, that are being gener

is active enough to sustain speculative Buying; ana
proving weather check speculative j buying and
cause liquidation of long accounts. ! i i
The second ia whether the market has : uSy
discounted end-May condition figures, and 1 the
third is whether the stock of cotton, accume rated
here during April and May ia to be 1 shipped! But
