"We believe that better administration
of public affairs can be had through
party organization, and we renew our
faith; in the general policies of the Re
publican Darty, We congratulate thel
people -of our state and nation on the
efficient administration of President
Harding and on the progress that has
been made toward, a solution of the many
problems growing out the the World
"We commend the administration in
tta endeavor to systematise the admin'
istration of public affairs and conae
quent reduction. in the burden of public
expense. We commend the chief execu
tive of our state for' the adoption
through his recommendation of the ad
ministrative code which has materially
i reduced state expenses.
, "We realize that we .have reached s
i period where property ; values are Im
paired and business handicapped by rea
son of excessive taxation, and that re
forms must be made and changes ef
fected reducing expenses before there
can be a return to normal conditions.
We are opposed to any law that will put
it within the power of district, county
or state officers to increase the tax
levy and thereby place additional bur
dens on the taxpayers.
PRIMARY LAW HIT
The primary election" law has proven
expensive and unsatisfactory and we be
. Ueve that changes should be made in
. the law which -would bring about the
nomination of officials in a less ex-
: pensive way and result in the nomina
tion of more competent officiala We
pledge our party to support men for pub
lic office whose expedience and qualifica
tions justify the belief that they will de
vote their best efforts to filling the, duties
of the office they are elected to."
