Chapman will receive half of commissions paid and due Elmer H. Cox for bringing about the sale of 17,000,000 worth of timber in Cow litz county to the Long-Bell Lumber company by the Weyerhaeuser inter est. The commissions run for 15 years and amount to $42,000. Cox, who is one of the directors of the federal reserve bank of this district, denied that there was a contract between himself and Chapman to share in the commission.
