Crop condiUona thrrugboot tha world an
haying their effect span the wheat market
generally. Not only are prtraUlnf report! in

generally for Um r"""t winter wheat crop, but
European adrice are such a to stampede the
bear and force them into the bullish crowd.
More and more it looks as If there is eonsid
arable truth in previous forecasts that certain
big interest war quietly absorbing December
options and that there was a badly contested
volume of short aelnnc in that delivery that
mar wreck a few of the bears.
The Chicago Tribune says that, with nearly
one third of the total winter wheat acreage of
the TJnited States in the droughty region, and
with lew favorable foreign crop reports, there
was a decidedly' bullish sentiment noted among
wheat traders, sfter the closer x With th Boutfl
weatem wheat seven months from hsrveat sad
spring wheat the deciding factor sa to tha sise
of the crop, some of the posted traders ex
pressed the belief that the foreign situation
should receive more attention than the pro
nective yield for 1922 in this eountry. They
ere locking for reduced estimate on the Argen
tine eroD. the earn a witnaaaed in the Aus
tralian,, with Don too farorabl prospects in
thit eountry, and believe that all the grain
North America has to spare will be wanted by
foreigners.
All through the Portland wheat trade there
is much more incentive to take hold. Bven a
former very bearish export bouse, winch could
not for month see anything but gutter prices
for wheat, has durint Um last few day been
keenly aseklnt supplies. Indicating that it really
wanted Um wheat is the fact that it was trying
to outbid its competitor for requirement. After
the close of Chicago, wheat was lower, the local

only a nominal supply of 129 bead came for
ward. Esriy tales were around $9.50 for tops.
