It begins to look as if recent rumors of an km pending coup in the December option were not without soma foundation. Tha nam of a big packer is allied with tha rumors. ' There has been general disposition in the wheat trsde. and especially among the paper' sr-rulators to beat down tha price of options upon the slightest pretext. Now it appears that a bis- nacker who has tha reputation of being a bear in the market generally, has seen the wisdom of the bull side and is quietly absorbing all the stock that the little fellows hare to offer on paper. The day of reckoning will come with the date of delivery. It appears that export business is passing for wheat at gulf ports despite the many weary stonea of hard luck told by the Pacific Northwest eyport trad a. Wheat is relatively ss cheap here as at the gulf therefore, it is nard to sea just why business is available there for export, and none in sight here despite all alleged attempts to sell by Pacific Slope exporters. Of special interest to the trade is the buying of millstuff by California. Demand from the South is increasing and tha local call is gradually gaining as s result of the recent storm.
