Disabled American ' Veterana ot the I WorH wr. . - Horr charred that Wayaon waa oat ot ympathy with th disabled veterana. and looked with coldness and indiffer ence upon their appeals for hospital treatment. He submitted several cases of alleged mistreatment of sick, and wounded veterans in substantiation of his charges. Dr. Wayson was In Sen Francisco taking an examination for promotion in the public health service at the time the charges were made pub lic by Horr. Dr. Wayson stated that thousands of cases had been handled by his staff of six physicians, and that he rarely came in direct contact with applicants for aid. Allen Jobes Dies Following Illness Lasting One Week Allen Reid Jobes, salesmanager and acting treasurer of the Portland Vege table Oil Mills company, died of pneo monia Wednesday night at his home. 1101 East Davis street, Laureihurst, after an illness of one week. He was 41 years old and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sally Grey Jobes ; one daughter. Esther Alien Jobes, aged 4 years, and by his mother, Mrs. .Esther Allen Jobes. Mr. Jobes came here from Spokane in 1905 and with his father and brother founded the Jobes Milling company at St Johns. This business was sold three years ago to theRose City Milling com pany, and is sull operated under the name of its founder. Soon after ftie sale of the flour milling property Jobes be came one of the organizers of the veg etable oil mills company and was made a member of the board of directors and salesmanager of the concern. During the absence of Charles A. Ed wards in the Orient, Jobes has acted as treasurer of the Vegetable OL Mills com pany. He was also active in civic af fairs, was a member of Shrine and Elk lodges and a past master of the Masonic lodge at St Johns. Jobes. was born at Minneapolis, Minn., and in early youth removed to Spokane, where he lived for 20 years. Funeral services will be held, probably Saturday, from the Holman un dertaking parlors, with interment in the family plot at Riverview cemetery. Dog Kills Coyote Found Under Bed In Home on Farm Walla Walla, Wash., Nov. 25. Driven by the severe cold and 20-inch snow of Monday, a coyote took refuge under a bed in the ranch home of James Durkee, between here and Pasco. The animat was discovered Tuesday morning and is presumed to have entered the. bedroom through a raised window. He refused to be dislodged from his warm shelter until the family dog was called in. The dog succeeded' in killing the coyote after a hard battle. GCS WILSON Gus Wilson, Portland dairyman, died Tuesday in his home at Tacoma avenue. ir waa rwirn in Canemah, Or., in 1895. Dr. Wayson Asks Full Investigation Of Vets' Charges Tnvettiration of the management of the United States public health service in Portland will be asked by Dr. N. E. Wayson, head of the service here, ac cording to announcement made Thurs day.
