The steamship Abercos, first or the
bulk loading- vessels, cleared Friday
night on a reconstructed -manifest, 289,
192 bushels of wheat, valued at $303,652.
The original " declaration called lor
280,000 bushels with a valuation of

. - The first declaration ' was made on
tonnage, but the bulk loading- ran in
excess of the measurement - Being the
first ship in this service, there was
delay. First came the question of lining-.
. The Pacific Steamship company- held- to
Pacific standards and she was turned

Is Fined for Having
Untagged Birds
Charles G. Turner, chef of the Benson
hotel,, was arrested Friday for having
untagged ducks and pheasants in his
possession when Deputy Game Wardens
Clark. Ossenburg and Cornell descended
upon the kitchen. Following trial, Tur
ner was fined $25, according to a report I
nied at the headquarters of the game I
Commission.
Another report filed by Fred Ander-
son and J. C Aioreland. special deputy
wardens, gave information of the arrest I
of A: W. 'West deputy city auditor, for !
hunting on the Multnomah county game
nreserve. He was fined 125. but n'av-
ment was continued on te ground that
he was ignorant of the boundaries of the
preserve, -'

Woman Loses $200
Savings Kept for
Payment on Home

. Two hundred dollars, representing
nara-earneq savings, was to have been
paid on a home, Friday by Mrs. John
Carlson. -who Lives at 828 East Tenth
street north. The payment was not
made. . Tha purse containing tbe money
was lost and Mra Carlson was unable
to find any trace of it She says that
it was either lost or that it was stolen
from her while she was making pur
chases in the public market Friends

The purse contained besides 8200 in
bills, a bank book of the Canadian Bank

Parade Grounds at

rade grounds at the barracks, contain
ing approximately , 25 acres, are busy
weekday 'mornings from T, until 11
o'clock. Machine gun companies, how
itzer companies, infantry companies and
the usual number ot xw recruits are
going through the dim and maneuvers
which will fit ; them for service. For
some time after the war the garrison
at the poet was a mere skeleton and
many of the features of garrison life

been revived is guard , mount at 11 US
o'clock. With the full band ot 48 pieces
furnishing music The regimental pa
rade staged Friday afternoon was the

Shasta Trains Are
Delayed by Wreck

Because of a freight wreck on the
Shasta division of the Southern Pacific
lyittm near DoasmBlr, Cat, all north
bound trains due from Saa Francisco
Friday night and this morning have
been delayed Upward to It hours. The
Shasta due at 9 :50 o'clock Friday night
was not Scheduled to arrive here until
t o'clock this afternoon and morning
trains are not expected to get in until
late tonight

lieved that the bones found by hunters
on the north fork ot the Boise river,
early in the week are those of Otto
Keller, who was lost on a hunting trip
four years ago. George Meyer, a friend
of Keller, after examining the rifle and
knife found near the bones, is convinced
that they - were the property of - his
friend who disappeared In 191T.
