The com plaint alleges that the use of the park as a site for a municipal building is against the intention of the donor and asks that the city be restrained from constructing the building. but that delays are highly dangerous. A crew of sur veyors In charge of Engineer F. N. Brinkhall of the state highway depart ment is-at work locating tha new high way along the coast, south from Gold Beach to the California line. The first unit of the survey, from this place to Pistol river, a distance of approximate ly It miles, is expected to take three weeks or a month to complete, since the character of the country is rough and the soil formation slippery. This section of the road passes through one of the most picturesque stretches of country along the entire coast. A high ridge covered with brush and timber and running east and west extends di rectly, to the ocean's edge and forms the rocky headlands of Cape Sebastian, or Hunters heads, as the point lft lo cally known. In order to cross this ridge the present road reaches an ele vation of about 1200 feet It Is ex pected the new road will follow a course nearer the coast and pass through a lew gap In the ridge at an elevation of 760 feet.' making the grades comparatively easy, although the route winds in andi out of the deep ravines which run down to the ocean and undoubtedly will prove to be a Costly piece of highway con struction. As he eaught hold of the hand rail his foot slipped and he was thrown under the wheels.
