It's time to think of cucumbers sad straits,
for pickling time is at band.
The cucumber cross this season is a liberal one
and consumers are advised that quality is now
at iti best while prices are eatresaely low.
Indications point to advancing prices oa
vinegar because of the high price of s pales,
therefore it is advisable to order pear require
ments without delay.
Tomato prices are being held beyond reason
oa both the public market and la retail shops.
With the wholesale price not above 11.50 a
box at this time the sales at 1 3 as 20c a pound
are at too excessive figures. roosnmers will
not pay these prices and the result win be many
boxes that will be dumped.
Strng beans are a druc on the market at
this time and three pounds are being offered for
2Se in some instances en the public market,
although the general retail price is 10c a pound.
Small heads of new cauliflower are armearine
on the public market with sales as low as 10c

market opened quiet but shewed steady buying,
sad first prices were 1 to 4 points net higher.
The Southern Products company condition figure
of 6S.3 represented a decline of 1.8 tor the
month against the average leak at 3.4 points.
Later the market was fine and about steady at
3 points net higher.
The market wss steady in the late dealings,
closing at a net advance of 5 to 22 points.
Spot cotton was quiet today, with middlings
10 points higher at 12.10. No sales.
