American vessels have not been taken
and now! with the decline in the price of
wheat the -foreign craft are out of the

Bend was launched at North Bend this
afternoon. The vessel was built by a
cooperative company! in which most of
the men who a Wed in the construction
took stock
The schooner .is 220 feet Jong and will
carry 1.000.000 feet of lumber, and was
.designed to run out of Coos Bay. She
has been chartered by the Bay Park
Lumber - company of North Bend' for a
trip to Callao. Peru. This is the last
vessel Kruse & Banks . had under con
struction. . The only other work at the
yard is the butdTng of some scows..

the assistance of the Dutch steamer Bali,
in dUtifesa somewhere between here and
Honolulu, the .marine department of the
Chamber of Commerce was advised by
wireless this afternoon.

helpless with a broken tailshaft. The
"Wllhelmfna left San Francisco Decem
ber 22 for Honolulu and the Ball left
here for Batavla the following day.
