Lloyd, who pleaded guilty Wednesday morning in the federal court to stealing an auto mobile from Mrs. Delia Glass and was find 8300 by Judge Wolverton. Lloyd thought several months ago that he would make secure his alleged Interest fn Mrs. Glass' car by running away with it. ' v Man Who Annoyed Girls Sentenced E. P. Roffs, alias D. Rodgers, B0, who was arrested at 70 Klickitat street, was fined 8100 and sentenced to 120 days In the city jail by Municipal Judge Ross man Wednesday, after he was identi fied as the man who had been annoy .inn, uhoni rirla for several weeks. Roffs made no effort to fight the charges against' him. Testimony was introduced showing that Roffs had stopped several young girls, and behaved in an insulting manner toward them. Ochoco Rancher Is - Reported Wounded . . i Prlneville, Dec, 21 Henry Koch, a rancher of ' uppei Ochoco, has been re ported fatally wounded In an alleged shooting scrape 20 miles east , of here Wednesday. The name of his alleged aggressor is not known. An altercation over moonshine is believed to have caused the trouble. S. P. TO ORGANIZE NEW OIL COMPANY Announcement, of the scheme undeV which the Southern Pacific company plans to separate its stock holdings in the Associated Oil com pany from its railroad properties was received Wednesday by officials in Portland. . A new company, to be known as the Pacific Oil company, will be organized under the lavfts of Delaware, with a capital stock to -consist of 3,500,000 shares of no par value. The Southern Pacific company subscribes to the issue at 815 a share. i 8iS.7i0,m DEAt. Girl Is Attacked On School Steps From the shadows at the entrance of the night school at Fifteenth and Wash ington streets, fn the old Lincoln High school building, a man stepped . out. seised Lea 'Faye - Archambeaux, of S3 Eighteenth street north, 22-year-old stu dent, and threw hr- to the sidewalk. Miss Archambeaux told police Wednes day night. Miss Archambeaux, who was entering the building to attend a class, screamed when she was seised, whereat the man 'ran, evading several persons who rushed to the girl's aid. The at tacker was described by Miss Arch ambeaux as about 6 feet 8 inches tall, heavily built and of dark complexion. Schooner Columbia 1 Is Rescued by Tug Seattle, Wash.. Dec. 2. (L N. S.) The schooner Columbia, lumber laden,' bound from Grays Harbor to Australia, is to day in tow of the tug' Forrest T. Crosby, coming into Puget Sound. The Columbia was flying signals of distress off Cape Flattery yesterday. The Columbia -is waterlogged and has lost most of her sails.
