month of November totaled 12.223.
625. Wheat shipments amounted to
668,84 bushels, valued at 81,625,
000. . Flour, fell down to 34,213 bar
rels, value at $200,280. Lumber

leet constituted the month's exports.
This wr.s valued at $398,845. Gen
eral cargo to the Orient amounted
to only $222,836.
( October exports amounted to $7,826.
157. or more than t'nree and one half
times the volume of business handled
during November, on closing day. This
in largely due to Hie fact that charter
rates r vj in the air and that ex
r porters are holding of if until the decision
of the' Pacific coast conference, now in
aesnlon at Seattle.
While the conference decision will
have no bearing on the rate to contl
ntntal ports or the United Kingdom, it
la possible the shipping board will be
governed by the action of that commer
cial body.'
Eleven vessels sailed from Portland
during the month of November, Of this
fleet 10 were steamers and one sail.
South America called for three ; United
Kingdom, three; Orient, three; Aus
tralia, one; Antwerp, one.
