Cohen Foodstuff prices continue to tumble in many lines; furtherjreducttons being forced during- the day for both eggs and butter.. The latter is down 4c a pound in the wholesale trade and the consumer Is entitled to this same reduction at re tail, which means not- above 60c to 62c a pound for the very best stock: on the market. Eggs are suffering a relapse In price, but this appears to be a seasonable con dition, due to the laying of the pullets. Cauliflower is extremely cheap at wholesale and good stock should be available in the retail markets around 10c a head. Onions are now so cheap in price that the public appears to have forgotten them entirely. Sales at this time are the smallest known for' many years. The public is still buying much fewer apples than it should. This Is one of the cheapest of foodstuffs. Buy them by the box because they are cheapest that way. v The following prices ruled generslly in retail shops for good quality. Wheat prices were erratic In the East in the early Tuesday trade but there ap peared a fair showing of strength. The local situation is generally quiet Because of the somewhat improved situation throughout the country generally, there was a steady tone in the local cereal trade. No price changes were shown for flour or feeds tuifs dur ing the day. Little business to showing for wheat at coun try points, although tnany of the growers are tired of holding and are looking for a good chance to get from under their heavy load.
