Lcadbetter was unquestionably tbe prospective "prince of the house" of the late Henry I Plttock, founder and pub lisher of the Oregonlan, and who left a fortune of approximately $8,000, 000, according to testimony given by C. A, Morden, present manager of the Oregonlan, given in Circuit Judge Tucker'a court Wednesday afternoon. I DIFFERENCES OVER EXPENSES f RESULT IN DIVORCE DECREE Mrs. Josephine Vanduyn won a d cree of divorce from Frank Vanduyn, a Portland realty, dealer, in Circuit Judge Catena' court Wednesday, after a hear Ing which developed details of much family trouble over-household expenses. Vanduyn testified that he had been forced to mortgage his property In order to meet living expenses. His wife de clared he was highly unreasonable In . his demands for household economies. The decree gives Mrs. Vanduyn custody of their daughter and she is to have one- third of the community property and a lump sum of money, the amount to be determined later by the court. ' Left $13,000 Estate Theodore Nolf. 70. who died In Port land November 18. left an estate- valued at $1S,000, which he devised to the widow, Mrs. Fredonla Nolf. Referring to a petition for the erection of small buildings near the North Bank station, Bigelow said such practice would result in continuing a string of buildings throughout the city similar to the objectionable shacks near the rail way stations. Sewer Bid $3002 Less Than Estimate Alex Daroff has established a most refreshing precedent in the city's build ing activities. In the opinion of the city council. Daroffs bid on the construc tion of a concrete sewer on the East Sixty-sixth and Stanton streets system was $14,065. less than the city engi neer's estimate by $3002. The bid was accepted by the council, together with many other sewer improvements, author ized Wednesday.
