Rancher Kill 29 Coyotes Twenty
nine .coyotes and three bobcats were
killed by a single stockman in Eastern
Oregon in one month, following a dem
onstration of poison methods by a repre
sentative of the United States biological
survey, according to a report Just rj
ceiyed by Stanley S. Jewett. As a re
sult of these "demonstrations, said Jewett

their own coyotes.

December 10, il and 12. An attend

First Movement in
Mental Hygiene Is "
Under Way in State
The first citizen cooperative move
ment In mental hygiene in the history
of the world is under way in Oregon,
according to a story by Dr. Chester
L. Carlisle, published in the Issue of the
Journal of the American Medical As
sociation for November 13. Dr. Car
lisle is an official of the United States
public health service and director of the
Oregon state survey of mental defect,
delinquency and dependency. His ar
ticle is entitled. "The Physician as a

To Washington to
Aid Post Road Bill
In support of the bill to appropriate
federal money for aid " in the construc
tion of rural, post roads Introduced at
the second' session of the Sixty-sixth
congress by Senator Chamberlain, a
delegation of Oregon men will go to
Washington to meet representatives of
12 other Western states December 11
to 13. The federation of Western states
is urging the passage of this bill, which
will provide $100,000,000 annually for
four years for post-road construction
and provide large match funds for road
work In Western states. The personnel
of the delegation has not been decided
upon. "
