Cohen is at the moment a very great of quality fresh salmon in the but prices are firm for all of Best available salmon at this the Alaska Kings, which are practically the same as the Chinook of the Columbia river, although somewhat Inferior In flavor. This stock Is being sold by the retailers from 25 to 30 cents a pound. ' There is a fair Bupply of pink and chum salmon In the market and this is selling from 10 to 20 cents a pound, ac cording to quality. Much of the latter salmon is being of fered at coast points but there is so lit tle demand for it that most of the catch is thrown overboard. . Halibut supplies are merely fair at this time but prices are comparatively high because of the liberal eastern de mand. .", ' . :' . Fresh crabs are In liberal supply but the price Is too high for average con sumption. Best crabs are held around 40 cents each but demand is limited. Much stock is being; placed in cold stor age to be withdrawn at the time when fresh stock is entirely absent. Cold storage crabs are practically useless for general purposes. Occasionally limited supplies of razor clams .arrive from the Oregon and Washington coast. Sales are shown by retailers around 5060c a dozen.
