An Portland schools was reported at the
meeting of the board jof directors ot the
Oregon dairy council! Wednesday-. Di
rector F :1m Shull approved of the serv
ice instituted by the council and said
teachers had found marked improvement
in the children as a result, especially in
-cases of undernourishment. Dr. Edna
Eamea chief medical inspector of the
schools, stated she would cooperate with
the council in establishing; milk stations
in districts Vhere they are needed. At
present, FailinB, ;Couctt, Creston, Terwil
lig;er, Montavilla, Ockiley Green, Shaver,
Buckman and Ilolman schools have milk

vote of the Amahdaj Reed association.
Grace Unklater and julia Harrison were
elected as delegates ffom Reed, and they
will lead the conference discussion on
scholarship, standards and vocational,
training. Miss Ltnklater is junior mem
ber of the student council, and Miss Har
rison is vice president of the senior class.
The conference will bring together dele
gates from every institution of -higher
education west of the Mississippi.

6:30 p. fn. and Saturday at 9 a. m. by
the ReV. J. Schulman, assisted by his

terers' association is holding a three-day
annual meeting at the Benson hotel. To
day's program Includes a Columbta river
highway trip and a theatre party. Fri
day the delegates will visit supply
houses ia the morning. lunch at the Ha
zel wood and banquet at the Benson in
the evening. J. E. Dunne will be toast
master. Speakers win include J. Harry

climb Troutdale Butte Sunday, Mem
bers will take the Troutdale electric car

Sandy and climb . the butte by a steep,
rocky trail, then hike along the heights

car for Portland. The total distance Is

Dodson Returning From Washington
W.'D. B. Dodson. eeneral manager of
thel Chamber of Commerce, left Wash
ington, D. C, Tuesday on hi? return to
Portland, according' to a message re--ceived
this morning by the chamber.
Dodson has been at Washington for
several months and through his activ
ities Portland received due recognition
In shipping board matters. He will
make several stops on his strip home
and will likely arrive here about the
