Cohen Mrs. Consumer, you have the biggest chance in the world to further lower the coat, of living- to you, If you will but take It It I known positively that many of the retailers are not following: the cuts In the wholesale prices on products and If consumers will take up this matter with their store keepers wherever they find that they are not getting? these reductions, much good will result. Some stores are following the whole sale declines quite quickly, but this is more generally true of the cash and carry Institutions than where ton? time credits are given and deliveries made. . It is expected that within a short time that maximum prices will again be posted on the public market and this, too, will be an influence tending to lower the cost of living. Razor clams are again in market but owing to adverse tides the supply is not as liberal as might be expected. Prices remain beyond the reach of the average consumer. Liower flour pricee are In eight for the loaal trade. In fact, some of the mills are already sjhadingr their patent quota tions 10 to 15c per barrel from list prices. Miller are by no mean advene to cutting the price of flour at this time providing they can secure the wheat for grinding at adequate values. Whil it is true that the present quo tation on wheat justifies a very liberal cut in the price of flour, it is also a fact that little wheat haa actually been pore based at these low prices. Since the -severe cut in wheat values farmer have not been offering their supplies for sal except in small dribbles. Not more than 1 o per cent of the milling capacity of the Pacific Northwest ia said to be operating at this time becsuse of the lack of export bufuness. Money brokers are now seeking pros pective borrowers, whereas two months ago the brokers were unable to obtain funds on time. One of the small tire companies the Lee Tire A Rubber company announced a reduction of from 15 to 20 per cent in the prices of its products.
