Oae Lynt, Three Bears Caught One more Canadian lynx, the mat to the one caught previously, and three more bears have been captured by Harold Dodyns, Rovernment trapper at Pilot Rock, ac cording to a report made to Elmer Wil liams, assistant United States biologist of the predatory animal division. This makes a total of four bears, three coy otes and two lynxa caught during the month by Dobyna. Tha bear are sheep killing variety, of which complaints have been received from stockmen. Sunday and upon examination physicians found two broken riba and a badly injured back. At present the extent of the spine In Jury cannot bo determined. Wo.h t , Comstock, Cove. NO CLUE IS FOUND TO PENNEY HOLB-UP Oregon City, Sept. 27. No clu to the hold-up men who robbaH the J. C. Penney store here Saturday night has yet been found by the sheriffs office. A fairly good de scription of the two men baa been sent to all Willamette valley towns. The robbery occurred aa the store was being closed, two unmasked men making their way into tha store from the rear, lining up employee and patrons. They tied the men's hands and brandished re volvers. The cash register, with the change for Monday's business, amount ing to less than 3 100 waa rifled. Noth ing else waa taken. The cash from Sat urday's sales had been put away. Beside the five employes of the store and the manager, L. W. Ray. two last minute purchasers were In the store at the time, but no one waa robbed." The robbers made their departure by the rear way and a few minutes later are said to have attempted to hire an automobile at Main and Seventh streets. The men were noticed at the corner of Eighth and Main streets, going toward the railroad tracks. It is presumed that they caught a south bound train. The Portland police department ad vised the sheriffs office that the de scription of the men fits in with a pair that had been operating in Portland recently. , Marriage Licenses Vancouver. Herbert L. Leonard, alias Hood C Martin, who claims to be heir to an estate of $300,000, slipped out of the county Jail Saturday. The fugi tive had Just finished a short term for larceny by bailee, and waa being held over on representation from naval au thorities that he was a deserter. Sat urday Dr. Joseph Thorn peon, of the navy, arrived in the city and in com pany with a local recruiting officer went to the Jail for conference with the pris loner regarding a confession he had made to the officers. The two were left In the jail with tba prisoner for a short time while the sheriff stepped outside to attend to another matter, and during his absence one or the other of the officers opened the oall door and failed to leek it again. The prisoner Instantly took advantage of the oversight. Husband Arrested on Complaint of Wife Family trouble between Mr. and Mrs. O. W.
