The Irish question is not one for America officially to become In volved in, however widespread sym pathy for that people may be among individuals in the United States. Senator Warren G. Harding said In a statement today. There is a widespread sympathy in the United States for Irish independence, Harding declared, but he added that America has already meddled abroad ex cessively without invitation. Harding: s statement was in explana tion of a cabled interview from him ap pearing in the London press purporting to quote the Republican candidate as saying the Irish question Is a British domestic affair. United States commissioner of education, denied 'today, before the sen ate committee investigating campaign funds, that political propaganda favor ing Governor Cox's candidacy had been spread through "School Life," the bu reau's publication. Senator Kenyon asked Claxton re garding an editorial appearing in "School Life." September 1, concerning Interest In education. This action was impartial, said Claxton. The speaker continued during yells and hoots and finally, acked, "Who will you vote for for president?" "Cox, Cox," came from all over the crowd with a roar. Colonel Croffny sat down. BANDIT TAKEN AS HE LEAVES TRAIN Denver, Sept 23. (I. N. S.) A lone bandit early today held up and robbed passengers 5 on a westbound Santa Fe railroad train between Las Animas and La Junta, Colo. After securing approximately $400, the robber was trapped and captured as he was leaping from the train. Tax Suit Set for Oct 15 Answer of Milton 'A. Miller, collector of 'internal revenue, to the $14,000 suit filed against him by the Haselwood company to collect certain taxes paid.
