Assistant . United States Attorney John Veatch filed a suit In the federal court today to cancel Lilja's citizenship papers, which were granted hira September 19, 1912. Deputy United States Marshal Willis- hunted several days in Tillamook county for LHJa and finally received informa tion that he was connected with a local alleged Red organisation. Willis finally found LUJa t a lodging-house in AJbina. In a sworn statement attached to the complaint, V. W. 1Jmltnson of the naturalization onice states mat Lflja made the following remarks war the registration of men over 31 years of age was being taken: "I won't fight for France, but will fight for the Germans. I believe that the Germans are right. The United states will never win. The Germans will see to that. We wlU never get on German soil. I will get out of the country before. I will go into the army." Lilja" applied for citizenship Novem ber 25, 1902. He is 45 years of 8gS and single. Veatch says Lilja has made use of his full rights as a citi zen, even to filing em a homestead In Tillamook county. Lilja came to Amer ica from Finland. The cave is abont a mile south of Lava butte, says Furst, and about J5 minutes of fast walking were required for the two men to traversal the tunnel, which Is some places was wide with a high ceiling and In other places was so narrow they could barely squeese through. The temperature within the cave was very low and the floor was covered with peculiar formaUons caused by the moisture.
