Eveninf Sun's financial review today
aaid : .
Not a great deal' was accomplished in
today's stock market There was still
more or less nervous depression over
the recent bomb outrage. The Jewish
holidays were a factor in limiting; In
itiative also. Altogether the session
continued .a performance which did not
lead anywhere In particular, although
there were not backing strong; spots
and weak spots. The opening was irreg
ular, the principal feature being strength
m tobacco issues. That strength waain
the main neutralized in a short time.
After the first fifteen minutes or. so the
entire list stiffened after a fashion.
Weakness in the oil group, however, eas
ily traceable to taking of profits, un
settled the market, again.
The rails presented the firmest front
through the session, with particular
strength in most of the minor issues.

One of th most remarkable slumps
shown this season in the wheat trade
was forced In the Eastern markets dar
ing; the morning session. A further
sharp loss in foreign exchange was at
tributed aa the dominating factor bnt
the fact that foreign exchange had pre

Indicate that some other reason must be
assigned for much of the weakness.
