owner, has forced Governor j Phillip of
Wisconsin to take a hand 'in the case.
' -The governor Wednesday , ordered
Sheriff Joseph Meyer of i Kenosha to
assume charge of the Investigation. : -
Charges have been made that Chief
of Police ' CHare. who was a . business
partner, of the dead man, has sought to
prevent a ; '"scandal. Many 'persons
prominent in Kenosha social circles are
said to fear a rigid investigation. It
has " been ; reported that Pacini gave
midnight parties which; they attended.
The Pacini home has been locked and
no one allowed to enter - Chief CHare
said that, no further steps would be
taken by his department until after the
funeral Thursday. He insisted he had
questioned "more than i 500 persons.", ;
