DR. J. WHITCOMB
BROUGHER TO BE
AT WHITE TEMPLE
Dr. J. Whitcomb Brougher, pastor
of the Temple Baptist church of Los
Angles, will supply the pulpit at
White - Temple for the next few
weeks. . '
Dr. Brougher was formerly pastor at
White Temple and during hla residence
in Portland, acquired a summer home at
Seaside, where he and his family spend
their summers and , from where- Dr.
Brougher will come up to Portland to oc
cupy the pulpit on Sunday. Dr Brougher
waa one of the most popularpastora the
church ever had. . i
Dr, Brougher has been fn drcpoQ ever
since his vacation began several works
ago. With the exception of Dr. Roland
D. Grant, Dr. i Brougher was probbiy
the most popular pastor the Vhito
Temple has ever had.
. Dr. Brougher is decidedly spectacular
and only recently brought himself con
spicuously into the public limelight by
marrying Douglas Fairbanks and Mary
Pickford, both of whom were divorced,
persons, which brought condemnation
upon him both in and out of his n
church. Dr. Brougher staf. that he
may, during his stay here.' defend lm
attitude against those who have ac
cused him. ,
