capital should be made cheap and easily
obtainable, but the point is, where is It
to come from? Interest rates are high
now because- the demand is greater
than the supply, for money Is a com
modity Just like everything; else. If
bankers have charged. high interest rates
it has been because the supply of money
offering- at the time was not equal to
th demand, for borrowers would not
pay more in one place for money than
they could get it for in another."

ent decline many close observers were
strongly inclined to attribute It to the
professional bears, but when new lows
were established in shares supposed to
be sponsored by houses credited with

banks inaugurated their credit restric
